Star

A twinklin' star, newly born,
was feeling lonely, sad and torn.
Far up there, it looked around,
then smiled at what its eyes had found.

Myriads and myriads of shining lights
winked over to him all through the night.
Its voice sang out in gasping wonder,
recognising his kin was over yonder.

So each night after the sun says goodbye
impatience fills our little star's eye.
It can't wait to shine its rays down on us
and is gently mocking our daily fuss.

The universe connected through numerous beams
enough to fulfil each person's dreams
of friendship, caring, tender and sweet,
sharing is what deep down we need.

And whenever you gaze up to it all
it will make you feel tiny and small.
Let this silvery gem be your personal star
and bring you truckloads of happiness... Mar
