Merry Christmas

Dark blanket of clouds
So heavy with snow
Wind slicing through skin
Head bowed down low

A candle burns softly
spreading waves of light
Home is Christmas' spirit
Loved ones at your side

Fight - for YoYo

Like a predator it waited
For the wrong moment to hit
Striking when nobody watched
Then sneaking in, bit by bit

You didn't know this visitor
Who came in without invite
It ate away your defenses
Your body left in blight

Energy drained, fever up
Something was all wrong
Cursed mysterious stranger
With influence so strong

Identification made it clear
The intruder wanted to stay
But proud and strong
You started on your way

The way back to health
Isn't paved with roses at the start
Chemo aggressive took hold
threatened to tear you apart

Fighting with body and mind
Despair and hope alternated
One day up, the other down
And still we all waited

We stay in touch
Through cards, texts and calls
Sending our friendship and love
While winter almost wins from fall

Unique compassion and wisdom
Plus lots of humor on top of that
Your door was always open
Understanding to be had

We miss you dear YoYo
And admire your resolve
You will be back with us all
We need you to stay involved

Please fight for us my friend
Keep that hope alive and strong
In silence and word we are with you
to walk your road, however long

With love,
~Marion

Sailor ashore

The waves in your blood will flatten out
Leaving silence and calmness in stead
But the sea still beckons you and soon
You'll follow her call into the open ahead

Home

Being with you feels cloaked
Just like the warm blanket
You wrapped me in last night
When I felt cold on the couch

Your presence surrounds me
With love and attention
In your company I'm free
Able to simply be myself

You accept me the way I am
Like I cradle your soul
And you encourage me
To follow my dreams

Always needed to have time
To be alone, to be on my own
And now I want to live with you
Share your days and nights

Your place and mine
Provide us with two houses
But no matter where we are
My home lies with you

Your way

Dearest brother mine
Your face shimmers before my eyes
A sentiment floats in the air
Filled with sad goodbyes

How I understand your emptiness
your questions, hopes and despair
Going over facts and memories
Just wishing she were there

Impossible to change what's going on
I can't bring her back to you
She's firmly made up her mind
And to her course will stay true

It's time for you to find a way
To proudly walk on your own
But I will be here to listen
whenever you feel alone...

We will meet again!

Guest Blogger: Gloria Weber

Welcome to launch of the Gaslight Demons Virtual Book Tour! I’m your hostess, Gloria Weber, author of Gaslight Demons, published by Morbidgames Publishing. Don’t be alarmed! Marion is quite aware of the fact I’m here. And, once again, I would like to say thanks to Marion for allowing me to guest post here.

Now that the shock has worn off, you might be asking yourself, “What is a virtual book tour?” Well, that’s what I plan on explaining today.

Let us get the obvious out of the way first: the goal of a virtual book tour is to get word out to people about a book. In this case, Gaslight Demons, published by Morbidgames Publishing, written by me, Gloria Weber. And yes, shameless plugging is also a part of it.

Now most of you might be familiar with the traditional book tours, where an author goes from book to bookstore, maybe even visiting a library or two. A virtual book tour is somewhat like that, but instead of bookstores the author pops up on other people’s blogs or websites. The author then spews some bit of wisdom and, when appropriate, shamelessly plugs her book.

No, I’m not doing it again. I know you got the idea by now.

So, why would any sane person do this? Generally, it is done as a form of cross promotion. I’m not just writing this post and forgetting about it. Everyone I know is hearing about me being here on this blog. And you, Marion’s faithful followers, are getting to hear about the Gaslight Demons Virtual Book Tour.

Quite simple, isn’t it?

With the explanation done, I must now return to shameless plugging. If you would like to know more about me, where I’ll be virtually book touring next, or where to buy Gaslight Demons visit: http://gloriaweber.wordpress.com If you are into pen and paper role playing games, you may also want to check out my publisher, Morbidgames Publishing: http://www.morbidgames.com/ Thank you, for your time.

Balance

Balance,
sometimes strong and stable
at other times fragile
the scales ready to be tipped
until you feel yourself
dropping like a stone
dark, emotional.

Balance,
sometimes fragile
self reflection, a mirror
look deep and long
at what really counts
then let go of the rest
and soar upwards again.

Balance,
precious treasured balance
stay with me.

One year...

How can just one year
be filled with a lifetime of emotions
Each day a pearl, shining, aglow,
nights alive with tender passion
Holding in a warm embrace
my love for you, forever

Dawn

Dreaming away
at break of dawn
Running outside
breathing fresh air
Watching horses
grazing dreamily
A pheasant strolling
through the meadow
Cat staring
then running away
to the other side
Good morning day...

Sun ~ for Marij

In the dark long hours before dawn
When brooding thoughts search your heart
Dragging you down, you feel alone
Then remember the new day's start

A glorious moment when the sun rises
Her golden rays tickling your face
Your life filled with sweet surprises
For now filtered in a painful haze

One day my sweet and gentle friend
Joy finds you, feelings all abloom
Tears float away and you'll mend
Shedding those tendrils of doom

Let the sun warm your skin, feel free...

Destiny

Life tries to rush by, so make sure you grab its tail and keep up. Don't let it get away from you, but take a firm grip and make it your own.
Only you can make your own destiny, nobody else...

My love

It's been a year
since your words first touched my heart
And in all this time
our souls have never been apart

You intrigued me,
called me onwards on our road
Taught me new things
and offered caring arms to hold

Thank you my Vman,
for a year of wonder, love and happiness
Onwards to 39 more
filled with laughter and sweet caress...

For Bandit

Did you ever hear the tale of Fred
A red and white spotted tomcat?
Let me introduce you to my friend
The bravest critter in all Catland

He strolls the house just like a dog
No stranger is allowed to walk
Protects his mistress with all might
And sings for her all through the night

Are you a mouse, rabbit, bird or rat
Then keep your distance, specially when fat
His teeth ivory white, claws curved and sharp
Dressed in a smooth but hairy garb

Stalking the house on socks utter soft
Big eyes non blinking, tail aloft
What's that, a prey, stay perfectly still
Then attack a fly near the window sill

Lazily stretching in a sunlit spot
Rolls to his back if it gets too hot
Chasing your own tail is a funny game
A cat, both wild and yet cuddly tame

No shoelace is safe for this feline puss
But in one situation Fred's a wuss!
Daylight scares my otherwise brave pall
Only inside my house he's feeling well

Every evening he sits by the door
and wants to hunt for doves and more
Yet light and sun chase him away
No roaming the neighbourhood during the day

Please help - dear friends - my lovely Fred
That is no life for a proud savage cat
Could sunglasses perhaps solve it all?
Or a cute female feline's call?

For the Vman

While you're away, my life goes on
But so much bleaker now you've gone
Rooms fill with shades, it's getting cold
Without your caring arms to hold

Thoughts get caught in a tangled maze
But then upon your ring I gaze
Beautiful and sparkling with light
Like you, making my life so bright

Enjoy my love, this trip from dreams
And know that the harder it seems
The more we'll enjoy once you're back
To share the loving we now lack

Part of Patsy's story

Wine or beer, now let me see
Do you by any chance also have tea?
I do love wine, but not this soon
Holy mackerel Pats, it's not even noon!

Of course, said Patsy, be right back
Then pulled in panic all from his pack
Tea, she wants tea, what can I do
Perhaps I can cook it from this shoe?

Water boiling, in went the footwear
The stench was hard to bear
Pats, used to his own smell,
didn't notice and thought it well

There ya go Milady dear
Your herbal tea is right here
But Drieske's nose curled in distaste
Horrible, but can't let it go to waste

She thanked the man and waved him close
Then gave his hair a tea's fair dose
Pats stood dripping, filth down his face
shocked took off in a state of haze

Oh no Patsy, don't run, it's not that bad
In cleanness much is to be had
She gazed around and met Ayslhyn's eye
We have to find him again, or at least try

In pursuit they went, Ayslhyn up front
Then Rwhen & Drieske strengthening their bond
The tracks were leading into a stables' door
the likes they hadn't seen before

The brave knight entered with nose secure
To counter the overwhelming odour
Servant Pats was hidden behind a crate
while he whimpered, wait, please wait

But Ayslhyn was fed up with the bloke
And gave him in his ribs a poke
Now get up and finally be a man
but Patsy cried out like only Patsy can

Taking his ear, Knight lead the way
Outside in the brook that's where you will stay
Dumped him in the water, clothes still on
Now this is how your bath shall be done

TORC

Then by all means you two, go ahead
And create a brand new thread Hug
I love this particular string of prose
With muse and fun in a perfect dose

Tell me, how did the pancakes taste
You ate them all, none went to waste?
Must be talented to eat 'm with a spoon
Slowly so your waist won't go to ruin Wink

Drieske turns then and faces Pats
"Flowers for me, oh dear, you know that's
very sweet of you, you're too kind
Lately Gunnar has been on my mind

My brave knight and I lost contact alas
And my heart is in a mess
So thank you Patsy, you make me smile
Let's sit down and talk for a while..."

Group Hug

For Ayslhyn

Ayslhyn has come back to us at TORC
For some rhyming and more fun
But during these last years
He's forgotten how that's done

Dear knight, just let your fingers flow
Make them dance over the keys
Keep your thoughts relaxed
Then you'll soon feel more at ease

We'll think of some adventurous quest
Where new people meet and share
So give me your ideas and dreams
Come on brave one, do you dare?

Wink

Part of Patsy's story ~ January, 2009

With a million stars blinking overhead
Drieske woke up in the deep of night
She lay still for a moment, but then
to her utter and utmost fright

Realization crept in: it was no dream,
she felt something wriggling against her toes
Looked up and in the dim light of the campfire
and saw it was Patsy's running red nose!

With a scream she jumped to her feet
and hopped up and down to get off the ooze
Pats meanwhile grinned sheepishly
holding up and offering his bottle of booze

Hope

A tentative smile blossoms
Lips that curl into a tender arch
Eyes shining with an inner light
And a radiance surrounds the soul

An awakening heart
Giving strength
Where there was weakness
Giving light
Where there was darkness
Giving hope
Where there was none left

Glorious feelings
She doesn’t care if this is the one
She doesn’t care if this will work
She cares about hope...

Fall

When leaves drift to the ground
In green, yellow, brown and red
Autumn must be close around
So much beauty is to be had

Bears hiding warm and deep
twitch an ear, breath light
All of nature's going to sleep
Into a long wintery night

Mushrooms pop up their head
no longer timid, no longer shy
Whole circles form a humid bed
Abundant colors catch your eye

Raindrops ornamenting into lace
Blessing twigs with unique art
Just let the season tease your face
Enjoy all with your heart

Sunlight filters through the haze
Biting cold forgotten for now
Trickling down in tiny rays
Promise of an everlasting vow

That winter will soon set in
Covering the land with frost
But then signs of a new begin
Spring oh spring, you are not lost

Safe and warm

The way home
blocked with rows of iron horse
the car in front of me
accelerating agonizing slow of course

Traffic light nears
then switches to red before my eyes
voice is raised
words on my lips, not that nice

Green appears
and I relax again, step on the gas
humming I drive
another corner, another queue alas

Dark surrounds
my little haven with piercing headlights
again temper flares
hitting the brakes, avoiding a fight

Then eyes open wide
ambulance, police car, fire brigade
two cars in accident
Oh dear god, I hope it’s not too late

Silently I drive past
shamed for my impatience and not staying calm
please let all
arrive home safely tonight, safe and warm

Written by Rwhen for me ~ December, 2007

Time passes, each hour unfolds silently, gone
A sun rises, a moon sets, stars still twinkle at dawn,
Years and tears and fears all tested and tasted
Nothing lost, nothing ventured, nothing wasted.

When like hearts rekindle the fire of knowing
At recognition, blazing in fascination and growing,
Atoms collide, the universe survives and we unite
Unaware of what has passed, unable to fight.

Look into my face you blue eyed wonder
Let not this friendship remain unkindled or assunder,
We will fertilize and till this warm and rich loam
Reaching ever for the happiness and comfort of home.

Drieske , your gift is a daily treasure
Not lost in the blur of work or leisure,
I hold you so close to my soul and face
A friendship that time will never erase.

Thank you for your continued friendship and support.
Above all things, this is wholesome and good.

Love Smiley

Diving in again

Memories come flooding back, when reading through this prose
Back to the fun we had with poor Patsy and his runny nose
The baths we took, and then setting out on some silly quest
All of these adventures have put us through dangerous tests

Then after, more touching poetry, feelings expressed in words
About cats and cows, horses and even mocking birds Wink
We all shared friendship, sadness, despair, silliness and love
Then silence, farewell… but suddenly like a beacon from above

The bond we share vibrated, pulled at my heart through invisible strands
Calling me, stretching, and reaching out with warm caring hands
So I came back here, longing for united creativity and a lost home
in search of dwarf, elven warriors, knights, dragons and gnome

A longing unfulfilled for so many years awakens, and here I am
Still juggling with words half fun, half serious, searching for a gem
This floundering simply will have to do, but to me it is fun
Hopefully remembering how the heck this writing should be done

Then unexpectedly a name shines through, a voice speaks soft my name
And now I wonder about the bond, was this why back I came?
Rwhen , memories, deep friendship, again feeling you near
Thankful and happy for this reunion, it’s so good to be here
Smile

For Wynken21

Alone, lonely, outcast,
words that imply standing apart.
Sometimes the world is too much
and empty does feel your heart.

Know that these feelings fade,
that happiness will come your way,
You only need to let it happen
and keep despair at bay.

The sun shines her golden light
on each and everyone of us,
uniting small solitairy humans,
denying all the daily fuss.

If you can not find this day
what you search for so brave
then simply wait another night
for the things you crave.

Sending a small golden ray of light
to you Wynken, try to smile.
If not be happy forever,
then at least for a little while

Dry your tears oh loving one,
Know that pain is now undone.
Fill your head with precious times,
that you shared throughout your lives.
The love you hold will never fade,
Happiness that Lotus made.
Feel peace and know things are ok
and you'll be united again one day.

For Lotus ~ later in October 2004

And now you're gone, beloved friend
I kept you close to me untill the end
your body fragile, you fought so brave
all I wanted was to keep you safe

Still I had to let you go, I couldn't follow
and today seems terribly hollow
sweet Lotus, little thing, I think of you
saying goodbye is so hard to do

Be happy up there little one...

© MD

For Lotus ~ October 2004

you keep me warm
when I'm cold
you are there
when I need to hold

never complain about
the food I serve
even though
it's not hors d'oevre

when I come home
you're always sweet
and reserved
to new people you meet

you know when to talk
and when to shut up
when to proceed
and when to stop

stubborn as hell
but devoted to me
what would I ever do
without thee

man I love my cat!!

Torn

Why is letting go so very hard,
is it selfish to miss you this way?
Still it's clawing inside of me,
thinking of you each single day.

My mind is rather happy now
knowing you are safe.
But my heart bleeds with tears
and toys with memories you gave.

Loving you is setting you free
there is nothing else left.
You choose the path you want to walk,
of options though I feel bereft.

So many plans, so wild and strong
pearls of hope woven into dreams.
Deep down inside I will nurture them
untill the next meeting of our streams.

I will not forget you my lady,
and cherish the memories we made.
We shared so much, so deep,
reminiscenses that never fade.

Moments filled with laughter, some sadness,
but always knowing you are there.
Feelings of friendship, past, present,
no more future is hard to bear.

No question: we will meet again,
and for that moment I will wait.
Untill then stay a treasure in my heart
remember: friends are never late!!

My friend, my sweet dear friend
Stay safe, I bid you fare well...

Star

A twinklin' star, newly born,
was feeling lonely, sad and torn.
Far up there, it looked around,
then smiled at what its eyes had found.

Myriads and myriads of shining lights
winked over to him all through the night.
Its voice sang out in gasping wonder,
recognising his kin was over yonder.

So each night after the sun says goodbye
impatience fills our little star's eye.
It can't wait to shine its rays down on us
and is gently mocking our daily fuss.

The universe connected through numerous beams
enough to fulfil each person's dreams
of friendship, caring, tender and sweet,
sharing is what deep down we need.

And whenever you gaze up to it all
it will make you feel tiny and small.
Let this silvery gem be your personal star
and bring you truckloads of happiness... Mar

A shimmering dawn

why sometimes it's so hard
to accept the things you know
get it over with, move on
and simply let it go

the fight is neverending
the one of head and heart
perhaps I need another life
to finally realise that part

but every day the sun comes up
to enlighten us with its rays
a golden haze brings hope and dreams
of new chances coming our way

my spirit sees and feels my friends
soars high upon wings of their love
and looking down I recognise
my folly from up above

blessed are my days, friends
with caring hearts around me
and I thank you all so very much
near you is where I want to be

your warm arms, always open,
holding, giving, honest and true
Rwhen, I hope that I can return
these pure good feelings to you

so again I shake myself
get out of this melancholy mood
a nod, a grin, a firm expression
aye, perhaps I just need some food

The real story of Shadowfax

A small hobbit child walked out of the door
on her way to adventures, she wanted more.
Little brother, loving parents, home in her town,
but the suffocating boredom, it all made her frown.

Where were the trolls, orcs, horses and ents,
the wizards, giant spiders, the road's bends?
The stories of Gandalf played on in her mind,
inspired she thought: now thĂ¡t's one of a kind!

Lying in her bed, blanket tucked up under her chin
she finally made way for the restlessness within
So on this early Thursday, backpack filled to the rim,
the girl slipped out of the door and disappeared into the dim.

Janaia was the name of this brave courageous heart,
curly hair, spirit so bright, a voice made to be a bard.
Sturdy legs swallowed miles, eyes sparkling like the sun,
when finally her parents woke, our adventuress was already gone.

The breeze tickled her cheeks and the girl laughed out loud,
auburn locks dancing around her ears, she looked very stout.
Once she glanced around, on the verge of leaving familiar trails,
But then, anticipation blossoming, she climbed over the rail.

Golden autumn fields beckoned her onwards, "Come child come,
you need to feel us, breath us, touch and walk upon us", they hummed.
The meadows rolled by gently, to be conquerred on foot
while a distant touch of mossy green indicated a dark wood.

Suddenly Janaia stopped, sounds of hoofs reaching her ear,
and into the brook she jumped, like a startled small deer.
Closer and closer the horse drummed, mouth covered with foam,
while carefully the hobbit peeped out, boots slipping in loam.

No rider nor sadle, not even a bridle to control nature's steed,
easy Janaia, she breathed softly, of his fear now take heed.
Softly her voice sang out to the frightened snowy white mount,
and his ears pricked forward, curious, one hoof still off the ground.

Arching neck, the grey snorted, ripples moving his muscles and coat,
and in that instant she was lost, on his beauty she was dote.
The hobbitgirl crawled up and stood still, eyes open wide,
waiting, her voice ever caressing, she took the first stride.

Enchanted by her voice, the grey waited eagerly for her soft hand
and with that touch she extended her trust, now and forever friend.
Magick sang loud while a small part of Middle-Earth held her breath,
a wondrous chance encounter, what guided her this day on her path?

All of her hopes and dreams seemed to come true, fulfilled in one glance,
the image of the white stallion, sunlit and steaming, a neverending dance.
"My Shadowfax," she whispered, tears glistening full of wonder,
"no one will come between us, nothing will be able to rip us asunder!"

Janaia slipped on to his back, sat up and then contented rode home
but ever since that day, horse and child, together the wilds they roam.
Exploring, searching, her wanderlust mirrored in the stallion's brown eyes,
stretching out to horizons afar, a horse and hobbit's paradise.

A tiny bud sits on the tree
Straining towards the light
Energy flows, so it grows
Reaching an unexplored height.

The bursting petals now unfold
Life is on it's way
Once a bud, a fledgling child
Inside having so much to say.

Now the flower opens wide
Laughing with life's song
Fragrance and words issue forth
Righting the smallest wrong.

For she is ripe ready to loose
Her writings into the air
Creative juices swirl about
Leaving prose so pure, so fair.

Timing is everything in life
As cycles ready us for more
Drieske my friend, your time is here
Your mind open and ready to explore.

Myself a bud upon that tree
Holding you hand in hand
I will enjoy all you offer
and firmly forever we shall stand.

Passage way

At the back of my house is a dark forgotten path, only used as a passage, never as goal.
Uneven tiles, overshadowed by high trees, always hidden behind wall and garden.
Untill that after-summer's day, when I walked through the passageway on my way to the street, lost in deep thoughts.
The path still was the same, but suddenly I stopped and looked around, in wonder...
A cool silence, filtered sunlight, hazy indistinct colours,
bushes, shrubs, trees and plants that were looking at me,
as if that small piece of wild nature was holding its breath, and wordlessly called for response.
Often is said that all is discovered on this earth, everthing has been analysed and recorded.
Not true though: always and everywhere there are magical places,
only visible to those who have eyes for it, dare to open up...
From these bushes, behind that sandhill,
whose eyes can observe us without us knowing?
How many times people pass by, watching but not seeing?
Is it possible, that, in that hidden little oasis of peace, magic still exists?
I'm watching through the window, stare at the trees and dive with my thoughts down the trunks,
back to the amazement, to the moment of magical power...
just a passage, an escape without fire,
but a passageway that set my imagination to flame.

For Maeglin

the voice of life is a vibrant tone
telling us of the days that pass by
through its company we are never alone
it sings towards the minutes and hours that fly

during our lives the voice sings out loud
celebrating happiness, bubbling with mirth
perfect songs and lyrics are wild with joy
like our parents on the moment of our birth

but when sadness causes your throat to thicken
and hardly a word will pass your lips
all grows silent, gloom and shadows fall
despair, a heart of its smiles it strips

then when the sound of hope slowly loses its light
a second voice joins in and helps you along
encouraging, inviting, showing the way
gently taking your hand, growing strong

both voices now sing loud in harmony
up the scales of notes they playfully dash
and on this path many more parts will come
but this harmony of friendship remains the flash

Just a ghost ~ August, 2003

a ghost called loneliness
hovers over my shoulders
not a clear feeling,
but an emptiness inside
not a sentiment,
but a black hole
tearing apart what was solid

what once was safe
now brings pain and sorrow
tears fall unnoticed
where is my strength
where is my happiness
nothing seems to matter anymore
I know it will pass though

life demands that I go on
fight against pain and sorrow
battle and struggle
always swimming against the tide
in the hope that one day
the current will sweep me away
to a safe and welcoming shore

and for this day I'm waiting
go away ghost, let me be...

Clouds

a summer sky, blue, white and grey
was staring at it for a long time
tracing airplanes, following birds
wishing it was possible to climb
up towards those sailing white ships
and lay down safely above it all
but decided to stay on my towel
tiny bit afraid that I might fall

I saw Dino today, and Fred Flintstone
a whale, majestic, a cat chasing a mouse
the breeze touching my body and face
seeking shelter against the heat in my house
those fluffy white clouds made me smile
taking me back to my childhood days
thank you summer, thank you wind and sun
I'll remember you fondly, always...

To romance

A man is searching,
in touch with his soul,
ever onwards,
going for his goal.

His heart's desire
to be filled to the brim
and finally lose
the emptiness within.

A woman is hearing,
feeling his call,
her aura streaming out
to enlighten it all.

Together they meet,
eyes locking in wonder,
hearts that sing loud,
all fear ripped asunder.

Talking, sharing,
daring to open up,
the light grows brighter
reaching for the top.

Take my hand my love
while we explore each day,
let me hug and touch you
keeping loneliness at bay.

For Rwhen

I'm so lucky to know a certain lady
who's giving me sun when life gets shady
supporting me and giving me joy all the time
I love you dearest lady friend mine...

Wine

when the wine is in a girl
everything just seems to swirl
the mind will come alive
for joy and laughter we strive
eyes will sparkle, gestures fast
chatting & talking, untill at last
the alcohol knocks us dead
and then we're off to bed

Beautiful friendship

a ship of friends,
sailing around the world
sometimes the tides are gentle
peacefull, quiet, a nice breeze
so we can sit back and enjoy
watching sunny shores glide by
nudging each other
pointing at playing dolphins
a majestic whale
sunlight glittering on the waves

but at other times
the tides will be dangerous
threatening, rough, dark and hostile
and then is the time
to work together on that ship
to be able to build on each other
blindly, trusting, knĂ³wing
do not feel frightened
you are not alone
the bonds of friendship
will hold you firmly in place
securely bound by loving feelings

sometimes we dock a harbour
and meet new friends
who board our beautiful ship
and others will leave perhaps
to meet again in another time and place

my friends are keeping me together...
thank you so very very much

Every day

when you open your eyes in the morning
and look around,
the warmth of your bed close around you
then feel happy for all the things you have
all the things you can enjoy
and don't feel sad for the things you miss
because every day
gives us the opportunity
to make choices
every day...

the child inside will never leave
even not on a dark autumn's eve
if you ever have any doubts then please
close your eyes and imagine these:

what do you do when there's a tincan on the street
will you be able to control your feet?
I for one have to kick it with all my might,
so it will clatter and give folks a fright

what do you do when a child throws a ball
will you catch it or let if fall?
I for one will join in and run along
laughing, screaming, acting crazy, is that wrong?

what do you do when after rain there's a puddle
will you stay dry and under an umbrella huddle?
I for one have the strong urge to jump right in
and splatter everyone wet, and then grin

finding a balance, sometimes easy sometimes hard
but if we only realise the choice, then it's a start
let us all enjoy the wonderful feeling of letting go
of all the grown-up wisdom, and just frolic in the snow

After divorce ~ September, 2002

today is a day to remember
to cherish in my heart
because this will be a beginning
a difficult but brandnew start...

this date means Autumn, I agree
but it doesn't feel that way
the sun started shining again
and I hope it will forever stay

The path of life ~ August, 2002

the path of life leads on into the future
and these days I'm starting to wonder
where will it take me, how will I feel
how life will be over yonder...

every person is unique, a treasure,
struggling to get the best out of life
for love, honour, friendship and happiness
is what we never relenting strive

each day brings new challenges, chances
every minute there are choices to be made
look forward with your chin up, be tough
and fear, but never be too afraid

I'm living and fighting through life
just like each and every one of you
and all my experiences have taught me one thing
the most important thing is FRIENDSHIP so true

The,real,Maeglin, lady Rwhen, MiLord Ayslhyn
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart
without you I will never ever make it
you give me strength, courage, advice and love

For prmiller ~ August, 2002

dear prmiller, happy congrats to you
and let's party like only TORC-ers can do
this is a day of great mirth and joy
although you're little more than a boy

celebrating the day you were born
when from the warm womb you have been torn
untill now you have come a pretty long way
but arrived safely to this merry day

*drieske shakes his hand and kisses his cheek
and makes him promise he won't wash it for a week*
would you care to dance with me on this slow song?
and the party goes on, all night long...

TORC ~ August, 2002

the door opens, a face peeps through
and a small 'green gem' says "boooh"
"I guess I have a confession to make,
because here there's too much at stake.

Prmiller, dear Rwhen," she says without boast,
"I really stand in awe of all your posts!
Your words make me fall silent and shy
and I was asking myself: can I get by?

My rhyming is simple, but honest at heart,
and I loved it right from the start,
and I do hope together we will grow..."
then she retreats again with a bow

I will continue sharing my feelings with you
in rhyme, beautiful cadences, still a lot to do.
Yes, let's continue, and when the time is right,
our party will put up again a grand fight!

Part of Patsy's story ~ August, 2002

Drieske reads the scroll carefully again
and then finally she does comprehend.
She knows about the danger of darkness
that can turn ones heart into a heavy mess.

Sharing a look of understanding with the bard,
she feels sad that their ways so soon will part.
With a smile she wishes him a pleasant journey
come back safely I pray to thee...

MiLord Ayslhyn, do you know where we will go next?
Because I think that our dear Patsy still is vexed.
We were searching for him a maiden fair
with green eyes and long curling golden hair...

And he's getting that funny look again
I bet he's realising all the more he is a man!
So please let's ride on and focus his mind,
untill we indeed a partner for your servant do find.

Part of Patsy's story ~ July, 2002

Drieske chooses her place beside the Bard,
determined to stay there on guard.
Softly she said "What happened to you?
Would you mind telling me, please do?

We are happy to have you in our team,
although different it sometimes may seem.
We ride in peril and need you with us here,
so at all times please won't you stay near?"

A touch to his arm, a quick flashing smile,
and then the miles pass silent for a while.
After making sure the Bard's at ease again
the sorceress gallops to Gunnar, to her man.

Part of Patsy's story ~ July, 2002

Then another wail ruptures the night
giving the company an evil fright
All rein in their horses and stand still,
straining their ears while approaching a hill

The mist and the dark obscure the eye
and they can only see the looming trees nearby.
Drieske looks around and then checks again,
she whispers softly "Hey, we miss a man!

Where did the bard go, we need to retrace our steps,
for he may be in danger, or is lost perhaps!"
The mist is forming pearls of moisture on their cloaks
and trails the cobwebs between the giant oaks.

Part of Patsy's story ~ July, 2002

Hearing the Lady's words, the sorceress rode on,
her thoughts taking her back to a past long gone.
The studies, the hard work, her initiation-day,
since then she had come a lonely and dangerous way.

She then looked at her knight, riding next to her
and a watery haze suddenly made her eyes blur.
Gunnar, who had saved her life when she was lost,
he charged right in and got her out, no matter what cost.

Since then they were inseparable, a couple for life,
together they traveled, for justice they'd strive.
Her thoughts strayed back to the issue at hand
and her eyes wandered about the desolate land.

The evil dark lord's plans she must try and fathom,
overcome his treacherous plans and overrule his kingdom.
She felt her power stir, reacting instinctively to her needs
and suppressed it quickly, saving it for later deeds.

Drieske smiled at Rwhen, a resolute glimmer in her eyes
I can detect magic, traps and will recognise his lies,
but my powers can not be launched for combat use,
their origin lies in enhancement of nature, so those I can choose...

Part of Patsy's story ~ July, 2002

Drieske looked at Patsy with renewed interest
and decided then and there to give her utmost best
to find a lady sweet for this man with a past,
to give him some joy and happiness at last.

She walked over to the snoring Pats and looked down,
he was having a troubled dream and wore a frown.
The sorceress stooped low and stroked his brow
and then the Pats-man smiled and relaxed somehow.

Friends, she said, I don't know what to do,
we have to decide where our path does lead us to
will we go after the lady who's waiting on Patsy dear
or first hunt down the dark lord to the North of here?

Part of Patsy's story ~ July, 2002

The fire is crackling and burning bright,
chasing away the dark and the cold of the night.
The sorceress rummages through her backpack,
then smiles and takes out some magic snack.

Sweet sticky marshmellows appear in her hand,
lifting the mood better than any wands can.
Drieske tacks them on top of some twigs,
and then passes around those promising sticks.

Snuggling up against her dear knight Gunnar,
she stares in the flames, wrapped up in wonder.
Where would this tale lead them to
and what deeds would they yet have to do...

Part of Patsy's story ~ July, 2002

All listen breathlessly to the tale,
the ladies perplexed, a little bit pale.
Drieske looks at Pats, her eyes blurred,
this history finds her deeply disturbed.

Nobody deserves such a horrid fate,
that girl would never get a date!
So please tell Milord, what happened next,
did the poor thing really stay vexed?

Part of Patsy's story ~ July, 2002

of course MiLady, here's the gin
I hope something is left within
because I took a mighty swig
hehe, and it's giving me a kick

Drieske hopelessly tries smothering her laugh
and grabs a firm hold of her quarterstaff
then her attention focusses on Ayslhyn again
to hear the story of the poor Pats-man

Part of Patsy's story ~ July, 2002

The sorceress steps up and approaches the scene,
her eyes alert, all of her senses very keen.
She sees the casualties, sprawled on the ground,
a sight that even the bravest would daunt.

Looking ahead she relaxes and lowers her bow,
since the dark one has nowhere left to go.
Trusting fully in the lady Rwhen's might,
she boldy addresses the dark knight.

Why did you villains attack my friends?
You should know where hostility ends.
Tell us the cause of this hostility,
I recognise you as one of the nobility.

We are no scum, bandits, outlaws nor thieves!
,
but still no answer, and a sigh the sorceress heaves.
We are on a noble quest for this ladle-prince;
do explain, or to lil' pieces we will you mince.

Drieske stares and waits, her mouth set firm,
anxious to know if he will accept her term.
Her green eyes flash, in her fist the knife,
in case of threat determined to take his life

Let us bind him and drag him to the inn:
we can question him better when we are within.

And thus the party mounts and trots over yonder,
the silent black knight still a mute wonder...

Part of Patsy's story ~ June, 2002

Drieske rides to the front and looks him up and down
while her face is disturbed by an intense frown
State your name sir Knight, who might your master be?
As far as I know travelling this road is for free.

It's getting dark, and we want to be inside,
why are you blocking this bridge, please step aside.
We have travelled far today on our noble quest,
now all we wish to do is get some rest.

Tempest shakes his head, dancing as he pleas',
but the sorceress is firm, and presses her knees.
Proud she sits tall on her horse, gazing at the guard,
wondering why this bridge should need a ward...

Part of Patsy's story ~ June, 2002

And so the companions go and ride forth,
following Aglanor, straight to the north.
Ayslhyn and his lady, then Patsy on his mule,
and although he has no horse, still he looks cool.

In the armor he has borrowed from his master,
riding a horse would be a real disaster:
he's clanging and clonging, swaying in the sadle,
is his hand in stead of a sword, he carries a ladle.

Drieske closes the ranks with Gunnar at her side,
riding on this quest with him fills her with pride.
Guided by the intricate map, on and on they canter,
filling the golden sunlit hours with fondly banter.

Part of Patsy's story ~ June, 2002

Watching the mighty horses gallop by,
one immediately catches the sorceress' eye.
A black stallion, his bearing majestic,
his strides show strenght, he is fantastic!

Drieske's eyes gleam with love and pride,
ah, to have a horse like that at her side...
She stretches out her hand, holds very still
and gently probes the stallion's will.

Patiently waiting, then the beauty draws near,
his ears pricked forward, shining eyes clear.
His noble head forward, the nostrils flare...
does he smell her hand, does he dare?

MiLord Ayslhyn holds his breath and whispers "no,
be very careful of this one, this will not go
Tempest is wild MiLady, he has never been tamed,
he can be hostile, his targets are well aimed."

But then the horse softly neighs and shakes his mane,
his eyes lock with Drieske's, it looks like a bane.
Unable to stop, in a trance the lady draws near,
she touches his head lightly and shows no fear.

The world is distant as their two minds unite,
the small sorceress and the big stallion, what a sight.
Drieske climbs the fence and jumps in the corral,
Tempest prances around, he is under a spell.

The sorceress steps forward and caresses his neck,
then salutes him, before climbing on his back.
Together they move, just a slight touch will do
and the rest stands and stares, they don't have a clue.

Glowing the halfelf looks up and laughs at her mate
"No man should use force on a creature this great,
feeling, intuition and love make him understand,
while against brutal force he will always fend.

My friends, Oh Gunnar, my Knight, I can't wait now
let us proceed on our quest, we must find that lady somehow.
I want to feel the wind in my hair, the sun on my face!"
then she leans over and gives her Tempest a thankful embrace.

Part of Patsy's story ~ June, 2002

Lost in her dreams Drieske hears a voice,
and then she opens her eyes by choice.
She lifts her head and looks up at her Knight,
smiling in joy, in pure delight.

Pulling him close in a sweet fierce embrace,
she whispers "I really don't want to leave this place,
but you are right, we have to get ready and run,
let's go out on this quest and share some fun!"

Together they get dressed and head down the stair,
the sorceress ruffling fondly through her Knight's hair.
"Hello dear lady Rwhen, a good morning to you!
Tell me, how can I help you, please do."

Rwhen and Drieske get busy with some food,
humming and singing softly, in an expectant mood.
Eggs and sausages sizzle in the frying pan
and a delicious smell wavers to the men.

After cleaning up, she walks outside and stops to stare,
thinking about her lost steed, her precious mare.
How can she go on a quest without a horse,
But then her face lightens up, ah ofcourse!

Boldly she walks in again, and searches for MiLord
He has horses, outside in the meadow, a whole hoard!
"Ayslhyn, do you have a minute, could I speak my mind?
If you would lend me a horse, that would be so very kind..."

Part of Patsy's story ~ June, 2002

The cooling water makes drieske shiver with cold
and Gunnar jumps out of the bath with a towel to hold,
he wraps her in it and draws her close to his heart,
then whispers softly "my Lady, you'd better start

to put on your clothes, it's already getting late
and you make one hell of an alluring bait
Come on my dear, please hurry and leave
and thank you for a wonderful eve..."

Hearing these words drieske stops and stands,
her leather boots dangling in her hands.
Gunnar's words put a smile on drieske's face
and she looks at him through a watery haze.

She carefully places her small hands on his hips,
stands on her toes and gives him a sweet kiss.
Then out she runs after an intense stare
and only her sandelwoody scent lingers in the air...

Her strides take her over to MiLord Ayslhyn's hall
Where she hopes to meet and talk to them all
Entering the room, she finds them close together
Studying a kind of map, made of old leather.

"Hello my friends, here I am, spotless and clean,
what is that, could I have a look, what does it mean?
And why are you smiling like this, I smell a quest,
Oh can I join in, I'll do my utmost best!!"

Part of Patsy's story ~ June, 2002

Drieske stands there, not believing her eyes:
again it's Patsy in his filthy diguise
She only stares at him, and says no word
but her stern look shows clearly she is hurt.

Disappointed she sighs and turns away,
no need for Patsy to explain and stay.
"Ah well, this was to be expected, my mistake,
maybe soon another valiant attempt I'll make.

But for now, I have other things on my mind,
thanks for understanding Gunnar, you are so kind!"
With these words she takes the hand of her knight
and leads him into the bath-house-light...

Winking at MiLord Ayslhyn and his Lady Rwhen
she locks the door and places on it a ban,
so nothing will disturb the lady and her Knight
this way they can bathe in full delight

Up to her chin in the hot steaming foam
she feels his strong hands wash away the loam
her strict companion, now so tender and kind
a better Knight than Gunnar she will never find

Then she moves and gently turns around
and hushes his startled protesting sound.
Come on Gunnie, relax, it's your turn now
and remember, on your silence you took a vow

As if by magic she presents him... a rubber duckie
and when he squeezes the bird, it says "squee-squee"
Both play as happy kids with the bright yellow toy
and they are overwhelmed with unconcerned joy

Part of Patsy's story ~ June, 2002

all hold their breath, as finally go
Drieske and Pats, together they duck low,
ever so slowly they sink in the bubbles
Gunnar very close, anticipating troubles

but then the miracle happens, really it does,
and Drieske smiles knowlingly, because
the eyes of Patsy enlarge, they open wide
as he feels the hot water caressing his hide

"MiLady?", his voice breathes softy, stuck in wonder,
to carefully sop his whole head under.
"It's okay Pats, just relax, and let it soak."
Gunnar watches silently, like made out of oak.

His lady smiles up at him, and extends her hand,
"let's leave Patsy alone in waterwonder-land!
Please my Knight, help me out of this hot tub,
and now in a private bath I want to scrub

all of this residue off my hair and skin
I want to relax and need you to grin
So would you care to accompany me my dear?
and leave everybody else to stay here

Part of Patsy's story ~ June, 2002

Hello Terry D, that's a long time ago
how are ya doing, just going with the flow?
You always bring with you a kind atmosphere
and I want to welcome you heartily here

This thread represents what TORC is for me
and it's really really filling me with glee!
Away from the bickering, discussions and grieve,
the LaFDaFP-thread feels like a big relief:

writing together, sharing and kind,
telling friends what is on your mind;
the soul of TORC is thriving in here,
it warms my heart, I hold it very dear

Please excuse me being bold, must be my Dutch-ness,
but Patsy really looks a big shabby mess
A bit too much talking, too little action
let's give this man some satisfaction!

So haul over that bucket, I'm ready as ever
if we wait for Pats to decide, it's gonna be never.
I'm very determined to get it over and done
and I guess that I have to be the one.

Dear Patsy, trust in me and take my hand
I will go easy, so you can understand
together we will step into this water-tub
and wash away all the grime and grub.

But listen carefully, I will say this only once
between us there is NOT going to be any romance.
My love is ONLY for my Knight, my dear Gunnar,
one false move, and Pats, you are a gone'r...

Just lovely

Some people come into our lives and quickly go;
some people become friends and stay a while,
leaving beautiful footprints on our hearts
and we will never be the same...

Part of Patsy's story ~ June, 2002

Gunnar my Knight, here you are
did you have to come from very far?
I'm just so glad to see your face
now please put down that tremendous mace.

I would néver ever loose my honour
that belongs solely to you my dear Gunnar.
I will be wearing my speedo bathingsuit
what do you say, think that is good?

We will be washing Pats with soap, that's true
but some places I simply refuse to do
his 'coat' is a prohibited zone
those parts are his, and his alone

But please my Knight, stay close to me!!
I will give up this plan for thee,
if you truly don't want me to go on with this.
The only thing I care for is your bliss...

Part of Patsy's story ~ June, 2002

Hello Pippin's girl, good you're back
would you care to share that sack?
I'm very fond of chocolat sweets
they are just what a TORC-ster needs

LOL Milady, holding Patsy where?
you certainly don't mean THERE?

His ears are to slippery to hold,
so I just will grab him bold
by his unruly dot of tangles
very cautious, or I will get mangled

Rwhen, I have to get into the bath with Pats?
it will be a courageous attempt, so let's,
but I will only do that with Milord Ayslhyn near
in case Patsy wants to hold me too dear

Furthermore I want my sweet Knight at my side,
for I trust without any doubt in his might
to keep Patsy's overenthusiasm at bay.
But what does the subject of all this have to say?

Pats, hey you, come over here and listen to me
we want to find a real warm lady for thee
If you say 'aye', then we will proceed
but first pay my words careful heed

You will do exactly as I ask you to do
no but's, or no's, or I don't know who
stand/sit still as a rock, now be a good man
and I promise, we will do the best we can!

For Aglanor ~June, 2002

Dear Aglanor, thank you my friend
we will be here for you untill the end
I'm silent here, touched by the heart
trying to find for this post a start

the only thing I can think of to say
is that I'll always, come what may,
be here for you if you need company
and I'm very glad I have met thee

Part of Patsy's story ~ June, 2002

MiLord Ayslhyn, please don't despair
we will find for your servant a lady fair
the only thing to do is to get him clean
so let's put him in the mean cleaning-machine

I know just the place we need to go
it's in a wooden house surrounded by snow
a sauna, that's what sweet Patsy needs
and after that we can work on improving his deeds

Your dear lady Rwhen and me can teach him to dance
so he can stun his girl-to-be in sweet romance
what do you say, shall we give it a shot
then let's hurry, and get Pats real hot

For Rwhen ~ June, 2002

Dear lady Rwhen,
what a lovely surprise
this is what we call
the rhyming paradise!

It's still early
and I've gotta run
but I really wouldn't
want to miss this fun

so here's my first rhyme
although short it may be
I'm sitting here
my face in a glee

I want all to cheer
for our lady Rwhen
she lifts my heart
like only Rwhen can

for knowing you
I say: thank you my friend
I'll be back for sure
but for now this is the end
